Prescriptions--can they be "returned"?
I transferred a prescription to another pharmacy. The medication I got smells very strongly fishy when I open the bottle. It makes me want to throw up...
I got this prescription on January 2, and it was just this past week that it started stinking....
I want to go back to CVS (where I had it filled the first time)
Can I go to the pharmacy I got it from and explain it to them that I need to get rid of it? I still ahve 20 pills left in this bottle. I don;t want to screw up my number of refills, but if I ahve to, I will...this smell is nauseating

I've done that. Got a bottle of insulin that didn't do anything. Returned it, and they gave me another bottle.

Re: Prescriptions--can they be "returned"?
Generally you cannot return prescription medication once it leaves the pharmacy, that's federal law. We can't reuse anything we take back. That being said from a customer service standpoint the pharmacy can take back something the patient isn't happy with (within reason, it can't be you just decided you didn't want it) and replace it for you. Certain drugs by law that are kept under lock and key and every pill accounted for we can not take back.
