Preschool Artwork?
Emma comes home with her artwork and crafts after every day at school. I am accumulating a lot. I don't want to throw it out, where should I store it, for the long term. I want to add to it as she grows of course so she can see what she has done when she is older.

Re: Preschool Artwork?
I have mommy brain this morning but I recently saw an article on this either online or in a mag..
Here are some suggestions from what I rem..
Store them in a binder with the clear plastic sleeves. Send some to friends and relatives. Use them to wrap birthday gifts for other kiddies parties. hang them on wire in her bedroom with pegs - she can choose 3/4 she would like to display. Laminate some and use them as tablemats. Store them in a box - see the container store...
Thats as much detail as I can rem...I will see if I can find the article.

Re: Preschool Artwork?
I've also read you can scan them so you have them on computer which is kind of a cool idea

Re: Preschool Artwork?
Thanks for the ideas but some of them are not book material. For example large sheets that she painted or the spider she made (3-d) and a hat she painted.
I was hoping to avoid a large box but I guess that is my best route.
We have her artwork displayed around the house

Re: Preschool Artwork?
My mother kept our in a tin cookie can. I actually have stuff from when I was a kid. I am going to get a box/container to store them. There is so much stuff that they come home with. The really nice ones I hang up. I have a fish he made in out bathroom. A few fall pictures are on our kitchen wall.

Re: Preschool Artwork?
Joseph received an art portfolio that we keep both Maddie's & Joseph's artwork until we can cull through it...for example, there is not a chance my daughter can draw a witch that well & I really don't need the teacher's drawings. Maybe I could send it to the teacher's mom?
I'll try to find out where my friend found it. I know for us the box didn't work (too small - sometimes they do legal size or larger projects)

Re: Preschool Artwork?
I know not all your DC's project/art will fit in this, but I thought it was a great idea:

Re: Preschool Artwork?
I would get one of those HUGE accordian files -- not the kind that you get in office max for papers --- but the kind that you get in art supply stores for artwork--my sister is an art major and she has one.
Also an awesome thing that a family used to have where I tutored --- they had awesome artwork framed around their kitchen, dining room, and den -- for the more relaxed rooms of the house --- the framed art was all by their kids. I thought it was an awesome idea.

Re: Preschool Artwork?
AFter trying to keep it all-- I have found the best thing to do is keep most of it and every few months sort through and keep the "best" pieces for that period of time. Oh I keep it all in two separate Tucker boxes in the basement.
