Prenatal massage
Anyone had a prenatal massage and can recommend where you got it? I could REALLY use one! I think I would rather a place where you lay on your side, as opposed to your stomach with the belly hole. I live in northwest Nassau but would definitely travel for a great massage!

I have done both laying on side and the table with the hole and prefer the hole honestly. Keep in Touch in Little Neck is great

Thanks for the recommendation! I feel like it would feel better in the moment to lay on my belly, but I have read and heard that it can cause more back pain because it puts unnecessary strain on your lumbar from having your belly hang unsupported.

Got one for my birthday at the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa in Bellmore. It was great! I was on my side for the massage.

I get a massage weekly at the Yoga Room in LIC (far from you) but I wanted to chime in and recommend side laying. It is the recommended posture for pregnant bodies.
My best friend is a Swedish Massage Institute graduate and insists that I do side laying only, tendons supporting the belly will be stretched if you use the whole cut out.

I got one at Sandalwood Spa in Massapequa. It was pretty good, but I felt like I wanted it a little harder...more like a deep tissue! but it was relaxing and nice
She moves you on your side, not belly.

i had one at red door spa and one at babylon wellness center.
red door does it on your side and it was ok
babylon wellness center does on your belly and then on your back and it was way better than red door and a lot cheaper!!

I've done them at Spa at St Tropez in Pt Jeff. They will do it on your back for a little bit, then switch to your side --- I plan on going at least twice with this pregnancy.

Please be careful. My friend got a pre natal massage last week and ended up in the hospital with contractions. The Doctor told her it's not a great idea to get a massage. They had to give her meds to stop the contractions....just be careful ladies.

It is definitely a good idea to check with your doctor before going for a massage. However, not all massages are a bad idea. There are certain pressure points on the body that can trigger contractions. There are also certain scents and oils that need to be avoided in a massage during pregnancy. So you just need to make sure see someone who is licensed and experienced and really knows what they are doing.

THIS HAPPPENED TO ME!! I was close to full term and with in minutes of the massage I was getting contractions..sweating and chills.. she had to stop.. I really thought I was gonna have my DD that day.. but after an hr or so the contractions stopped. I had my DD a little over a week later. I did not consult with my Dr. and I shld have.
