"premium text" on verizon bill???
i just received my verizon bill and there is a charge for $9.99 for 1 premium text message.
did this ever happen to anyone else and do you know what it could be from?
the only thing i can think of is that i know i texted a radio station once, but i don't remember if it was within the last month... and would that cost ten dollars?
i don't feel like sitting on hold with verizon but i want to know what it is so i never do it again!

those are usually for the txt msg services you see on tv---like "Txt 44454 to receive this ringtone!" or "Text hi to 34343 for your horoscope"
its a monthly charge---verizon can't do anythign about it--you'll have to call the company that is charging you to get it taken off.
my sister had this on her bill last month cause one of her nieces saw an ad on tv and wanted to DL a ring tone.

your bill may or may not the company that text you, you a. need to call them to take it off and b. cancel/stop service to make sure you don't get billed again..
radio stations, banks, anything speical is typically 9.99
verizon may remove it if you don't remember as a 1 time curtosey and at the same time, they will tell you how to stop it

very weird---i would find out from where it came from, from a verizon rep. when my sister called they told her they couldn't do anything about it because it was a 3rd party that billed it.

what does it say on that line where you got charged if you don't mind me asking..if it doesn't speicify, verizon will know more info about the vendor..
it can be a website, horascope...so many different things it could be

it just says "premium text" - 1 - 9.99
it's in an area where they have how many texts, downloads etc you use
i guess i'll have to sit on hold with them

My kids do this all the time. It can be ring tones, things done through computer. Call verizon and they will take the charge off and show you how to block it.

If you go online to see your detailed bill, it should say there the number you texted to. The bills you receive in the mail are no longer detailed.
