Pregnancy Question
I'm asking over here since there is no real action on the pregnancy board. I'm 34.5 weeks with my 4th pregnancy. I have hypertension (diagnosed before 20 weeks) treated with meds, gestational diabetes (on insulin at night), borderline IUGR (possibly because of blood pressure mess or placental issues), and see a high risk practice 1-2 times a week. I've been showing protein in my urine the past few weeks but no raise in blood pressure yet, though I did get a high reading last night. Last week at my weekly sono, I showed low fluid and calcification of the placenta. The worry all along has been that the placenta isn't functioning as well as it should be. Anyone have any a huge range of issues and make it full term? I know they want me to deliver by 39 weeks, but I'm starting to get concerned that I will have to be induced even earlier. Thanks!

Pregnancy Question
No advice BUT 34 weeks although isn’t ideal, isn’t terrible, if you have tons of issues, it may be safer to deliver. My twins were born 1 hour after I hit 36 weeks and I had never caught IUGR until my final ultrasound 3 hours before my c section. My son was born 3lbs. I wish I went earlier. He seemed so lifeless at delivery. BUT he’s a happy health and incredibly smart 21 month old! Good luck! I’m sure everything will be ok! I know it’s stressful but I would bring all this up at your appointment this week and ask for a plan of action.

Pregnancy Question
Like pp said, 34 weeks is already pretty good so I'd consider every week you go from there to be a bonus.
They suspected iugr around 32 weeks with my second. I went in at 35.5 weeks for reduced movement and they found her heart rate showed distress and delivered that night. She was 4.0 pounds and had some other issues but she did really well. My biggest advice is to call the doctor if you have a lack of movement bc aside from monitoring, that's your first sign there's a worsening problem. I had a sono scheduled for the next morning but I'm so glad I didn't put off going in that night. Best of luck.

Re: Pregnancy Question
I had pre eclampsia and a host of other issues, which put me on bed rest at 25 weeks. I was able to deliver at 39 weeks. However, I would speak with your obgyn and voice your concerns.

Re: Pregnancy Question
No, but I just wanted to say that I delivered my DD at 32 weeks (after my water broke early for no known reason), and everything turned out ok. She spent two weeks in the NICU but she is a healthy 24 month old now. I was told by the neonatologists that at 34 weeks on, chances are the baby will be fine if you have to deliver early.
I hope everything is ok!

Re: Pregnancy Question
Thanks everyone. I have spoken to my doctors every week and we are basically on a wait and see basis. Obviously the best place is inside unless it's not, so we just wait. I was just hoping to hear from someone who had a ton of issues but had them stay in check!

Re: Pregnancy Question
I did not have as many issues as you're facing, but I did have protein in my urine nearly my entire first pregnancy and it never became pre-e. I did go into labor 10 days early, but no complications.
Good luck and hang in there!

Re: Pregnancy Question
I stopped a med at 36 weeks for pre eclampsia. I always had orders to take my bp daily, if 3 days over a certain amount to call. From 32 weeks to 36 weeks I gained 20 lbs, before that I was up 3 pounds. At 36 weeks I tested positive for urine and my bp readings were high every 3 days. At 37 weeks, 3 days I was induced and had a csection due to severe eclampsia/ severe allergic reaction the next day.
