Pregnancy for Dummies

So, I am counting on your girls to help me out and answer some questions I have...

1- What week am I in?? BabyCenter tells me 4 weeks, and WhatToExpect.com tells me 5 weeks. Based on when I O'd, my EDD is 2/2.

2- Are any of your keeping a journal of sorts-- like, they way you did when TTC to keep track of symptoms, etc. If so, are you doing this online? I want to keep track of everything (just in case) cause I am an anal-retentive psycho.

3- What should I expect in the next coming weeks?

4- Any tips for a newbie?

5- Oh, and how psychotic should I be with my creams and other skin care?

Thanks!!

i would calculate 40 weeks from then

when i told the dr. that i knew when i "O"d he said it was important because there were 20 days inbetween last AF and "O" date

Re: Pregnancy for Dummies

For some reason, What to Expect has me a week ahead. I would go by babycenter for now and when you see your obgyn, he/she will give you your EDD.

Re: Pregnancy for Dummies

pay close attention to what the site says, does one say you are 4 weeks and the other week 5?

if so, then they are both consistant.. cause you are not 5 weeks till week 5 ends... you are still only 4 weeks, but IN week 5... does that make sence...

i have 2 sites that word it differently one says 9 weeks, the other says week 10, which is saying the same thing really

Re: Pregnancy for Dummies

I tried to keep a journal but i have no symptoms to report so it's really empty, lol! that would be a cute idea though!

stay off any and all medications, don't eat any cold cuts, any deep sea fish(ie, shark), any soft cheese and def take your prenatal vitamins!

come onto LIF with any questions!

and less is more when it comes to chemicals on your bodyChat Icon I'm sure it makes you look fabulous but until you get the green light from the dr you should stick to the light stuff.

your due date is 38, not 40 weeks, from when you O'd. the reason most doctors will give you a 40 week gestational period is because they go by your LMP, which is uaully 2 weeks before you O.

if you want to be more exact, then go by your O date (if you are 100% sure, i think you would be since you were seeing an RE) and add 38 weeks.

I think that is what is happening-- they both have the same EDD.

It's crazy that you are already so far along into it-- the first trimester will be over so quickly at this rate!
