Pre school back to school night
Do you hire a babysitter so you and DH can both go or do you go alone?

Re: Pre school back to school night
We are lucky that my parents live close and we also have a sitter as backup. We both have always gone for "back to school" night, but if all else fails then I would go and DH would stay home and watch the boys. We like to have an idea of what the teacher is like, what they will be doing for the year, the classroom, etc. Especially since DH isn't around during the day he likes to be part of it so he knows what I'm talking about or DS.
Honestly... if he couldn't go it would be fine too.

We both go. I am a FTWM and my DH picks up & drops off my Son so I like to be there and catch up on what is going on, talk to the teachers, etc..

Pre school back to school night
my DD goes to preschool at her daycare and they offered babysitting for both parents to attend. I did not know this till the day off and I had already made arrangements for my parents to watch my kids. DH didn't come because he was working and me and him didn't feel it was worth asking to get out early for back to school night

Pre school back to school night
We had our first back to school night on Monday, now that DS is in the 3's class. My MIL came and stayed with the boys, but I would have had no problem going alone if I couldn't get a sitter.

I went alone but honestly I wish DH came with me. Try to get a sitter if you can.

Re: Pre school back to school night
We got a sitter for the first one when DS#1 started preschool. I have been going solo to the preschool ones. Most parents seem to have one parent attend and one parent home with children.
We got a sitter for DS's kindergarten back to school night last week. Not sure if DH will want to go again next year. We'll see. I plan to go to DS#2's preschool back to school night alone next week.

Pre school back to school night
DH worked late that night, so I had to go alone. I had a family member watch DS so I could go. There were plenty of parents that brought their children with them. DS attends DDI, so I think things may be a little different.

Re: Pre school back to school night
I went to DD's alone. We had hoped to have a grandma babysit but neither were available. I would have liked DH to be there but it wasn't the end of the world.
Now that I think about it, I'd say most of the parents there were moms alone. I saw a few mom and dad's together and I don't recall seeing any dad's alone. It seemed many people didn't have both parents attending, so don't feel bad if you both can't make it.
