PR from LIW - I live in London and I have a thought for today
These past few years have been shocking for me, and I would think for most of you too - I spent such a happy, safe childhood never even imaging such horrible things could ever happen in this world. But if nothing else, Sept. 11th, the Tsunami at Christmastime and now, this morning's terrorist attacks, have taught me that anything can and will happen.
I spent half of this morning thinking that my husband was dead. Thank god I was finally able to get in touch with him to find he and his colleagues were safe and sound. I'm not looking for pity or for hugs or anything. I just want everyone to think about how they live their lives. Don't take any days for granted. When I hadn't heard from DH this morning I thought about how I was half asleep when he walked in last night and I didn't bother to get up and greet him and talk to him before he came to bed. I thought about how he nearly left this morning without saying goodbye because he was running late, and how I nearly let him go, but I yelled at the last minute, No Kiss? and he came running back up the steps to give me one.
Please, don't let today go by without telling those people who need to hear it that you love them. Please don't bicker with your loved ones over things that don't really matter in the long run. Don't not take public transportation because you're scared. Please go on your trips to Europe or on your honeymoon and make memories to last forever.

Perfectly written, and so true. I am certainly guilty of taking for granted that everyone in my little bubble are indestructable...I know that is not the case, but especially with DH I slack in many areas.

DH is off for the summer cuz he is a teacher and this morning when I left for work I ran the doorbell so I could wave goodbye to him, he waved from our bedroom window.

Glad you and DH are ok. I never leave the house or go to sleep with out giving DH and kiss and telling him I love him.

Thank you for posting this (I am so happy to hear that your DH is ok)
I am also in tears after reading this, we have lost so many people in our lives suddenly, that DH and I always say 'I love you' or tell each other how we feel. We were not able to do this with other people in our lives that we make sure that we do. DH and I say 'I Love You' - countless times in a day - when we first get up, when he leaves for work, everytime we speak on the phone, even sometimes before he goes outside to mow the lawn. I know it sounds silly, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
We are the same way with our families.
As usuk2004 pointed out - don't take any moment for granted.
And with saying that - I wanted to say thanks girls for all the smiles you give me, for being there for all the sad moments. Many hugs to all of you.

I had the same type of morning on 9/11 - DH and I both worked within 3 blocks of the WTC and couldn't find each other for a couple of hours. It is a huge eye opener!
I'm sorry you had to live that horror this morning. But, isn't it amazing how strong you realize you are to turn around and find some good in it - you had some wonderful insight to how fragile life is and I'm sure you will always cherish what you have. I hope all of your friends are safe.

Thank you for the post - we can all use a little reminder every now and then.
One of my first thoughts this morning when I heard it on the news was "I hope Farah is okay."
I felt a little silly saying that, since we don't really "know" each other, but your post illustrates the point - never pass up an opportunity to tell someone you care, whether it is a family member or a friend you've never met.
I'm glad to hear you and DH are safe.

Farah I just woke up ya this morning I slept late. I put on the TV and this is was the first thing I saw. YOU and your DH are the first thing I thought of. THANK GOD you guys are ok. AND what you wrote is so true. We take so much for granted.

Glad to hear that you and DH are OK.
It really is such a sad thing as to what has happened to this world.
I have to admit that not until 9/11 have I felt so Patriotic. I have never really thought about what RED WHITE & BLUE really means to me. Now I think it has a whole new meaning! It is something that belongs to me (as well as all of you). It is 3 colors that say more then any words could say.
Please stay safe!

Very well said! I was thinking about you today and glad to hear you and your DH are ok.
DH and I can be arguing off and on all day but before bed, we always make sure we say "I love you" and also before we hang up the phone. When I dont say it right away, I feel so guilty!
