PP and Hair Loss
I had my baby back in January (4.5 months PP) and my hair is falling out like crazy. I see it everywhere. Lately I have been putting it up as a bun and still manage to see strands here and there. I'm afraid I'm going to be bald if I don't do anything about it. At this point, I think I have no other choice but to cut it off.
Anyone else experience this?? If so, what did you do?

Yup. So much hair falls out PP. I ignored it. Had male-pattern baldness for a few months. It will grow back!

My hair loss was crazy & it was happening until I was about 7-8 months PP. Don't worry, you won't go bald. But now I have little hairs starting to grow in around my hairline & they are annoying too - ha!

I am in the same boat. I am almost 4 months PP and my hair is falling out too. It s everywhere!! I vacuum and half hour later it's like I've never done it. It comes out in clumps in the shower. I constantly have my hair up because I'm afraid it's going to get on DD finger or toe. My doctor said it is totally normal and it could last for several months.

It is, but totally normal. It's all the hair you didn't normally shed because you were pregnant.

Normal! Cutting it will not stop the fallout. And you are just shedding the hair you kept during pregnancy so you will not have less hair than you did before pregnancy.
The only thing cutting will do is help hide the regrowth.

Totally normal, mine unfortunately took almost a year to finally stop... now im preggers again, and so happy to not be shedding all over my house!

Exactly this.
My dr explained it to me this way.
When pregnant the hormones cause your hair to slow down its normal shedding cycle.
So you are actually holding onto hair you would normally shed. Hence why a lot of women notice their hair looks thicker and fuller when pregnant.
He told me a lot of people think that is because of the prenatals- but it's not.
It's because you are shedding less hair so your hair looks thicker.
After you give birth and your hormones regulate your body sheds the hair it was holding on to for 9 months.
That is what you are seeing coming out and that is why it looks like so much hair coming out.
You are not going bald- you are shedding hair you held on to while pregnant.

I know this is all normal but I feel like I'm losing more than ever. I already have bald areas on both front sides. I have to now comb my hair to the sides to hide some of it. It's really bad.

this is what is happening. You dont loose as much hair when you are pregnant as you normally do. THat is why your hair was fuller and thicker when you were pregnant. The hair you are loosing is just the hair you would have lost if you were not pregnant for that time period.

Me too!!! It's everywhere!! I the hair all over and I am constantly wiping it up from everywhere!!!! It's long which makes it worse. I can't wait for it to be over. I am 4 mo PP

I had that too. For a long time. Maybe up until DS was a year old. I started taking biotin again and it seems to have stopped the excessive hair loss.

My hairdresser warned me about that. It was bad. I just ignored it (as best I could), it is starting to grow back.

Same with me. I get that it's a lot of hair that I didn't lose while Preggo, but I'm starting to get bald patches at my temples!
