powder formula

Sorry..just have a quick question?
When using powder formula, do you use bottled water, or filtered sink water, or boil tap water?

And if you add rice to the formula...
do you put powder & rice together then mix, or

mix the formula first, then add the rice and mix?

Im sorry if this is confusing, but Im so lost...Im not sure what to do?
Thanks!Chat Icon

Re: powder formula

I used to use boiled tap water or bottled water if I was out and needed to mix a bottle up. Warm water works best in disolving the powder.

If I added rice to it I did it after I prepared the bottle.

I can't help with the rice formula, but I use boiled filtered tap water. Our ped. said I didn't need to boil it (though you may want to check with your doctor), but I do it anyway.

I haven't use bottled water yet, the CDC doesn't recommend it for children under 3 months since bottled water really isn't held up to the same standards as municipal tap water.

Re: powder formula

I use regular bottled water.

I mix the form and water first, shake to mix, then add the rice cereal and mix again.
