potty trianing 3 yr old boy
i read a lot of older posts about this issue and i'm still confused.
we have the potty watch and when it beeps, he'll go potty - he pees w/o problems on the potty
but he won't tell me that he has to go - i have to ask him.
he has been wearing underwear during the day and pull ups at bedtime...it doesn't matter what he's in, if it's going to be an accident, it will be :(
is it that he is not ready yet? he understands the concept and has told me that he wanted to wear underwear, so what gives?
any suggestions? TY

I think you are off to a great start. Just continue asking him. It will get to the point that he's going to let you know or he starts doing the behaviors that let you know he has to go. I think accidents are bound to happen. Just reassure your DS so he doesn't associate anything negative with it. Good Luck!

DS was going in timed intervals, and it took up to a good month until he could really tell me when he needed to go.

Re: potty trianing 3 yr old boy
The first time we tried Potty Training my son he was a month shy of three years old.
He would pee on the toilet, but basically because I was constantly putting him on. And, the potty watch was going off.
He didn't tell me once that he had to go. He also got very angry every time he had to get on the toilet. It wasn't a pretty sight.
After two weeks of torturing myself and worrying about him peeing everywhere, I put the diaper back on him. A month later he woke up one day and didn't want to put his diaper on. That was the last of it. He was telling me that day every time he had to go pee pee on the potty, and has been doing great since.
Good luck, I will say that PT is the hardest thing I've had to do as a parent. It's not fun at all because it's completely out of our control
