Potty training set back... What to do?

I'm so frustrated!

So, we did the 3 day method and had 100% success by the end of day 2. On day 4 we had 2 dry nights, and making it in the potty 100% of the time. 3 days later we went away for the weekend and she stayed with my inlaws.
Well, let's just say that despite my instructions and everything I laid out in detail, she did not do well at all. Complete regression. She came home last night and peed and pooped in the bed.

I'm kicking myself for going away (it was planned for months)! Now I'm not sure what to do. Should I do the 3 day method all over again, or just stay the course.

I'm so frustrated. I really thought this was a done deal.

Potty training set back... What to do?

Honestly, and I know it wasn't my child, but I potty trained both my sister and my cousin's daughter, and BOTH had regression here and there. It's going to happen, just like when they start STTN, little things are going to cause a regression here and there. I'm not familiar with the 3-day method, I just winged it back then (we're talking over 10 years ago) and it worked well for me then, but I would just redo what worked for you previously... it probably won't take long (and it didn't take long for you the first time, either, BTW), she likely just needs a refresher. Don't feel bad for going away, YOU NEED IT TOO, and just remember regressions are going to happen.

I would not freak out too much....set backs happen and if it wasn't now it could happen for various other reasons so don't beat yourself up.

Personally I would just reinforce what you have already done....Don't do 3 day hard core or anything just remind her frequently about potty time. Try that for a bit before going back tot he 3day by the book. I think she will be fine.

i would try to re-instate what you did. i wouldnt have her run around without pants on again, but i would continue to do the "dont forget to tell mommy when you have to go potty" again and keep that going
