potty training question

how do you get your little one to tell you they need to go before they go? DD who is 2 is really big on telling me after she goes and wants to sit on the toilet afterwards. How do i get her to understand she should tell me before? Everytime she's peed today she's brought me to the bathroom for her to sit on the toilet but she's already gone.

It's a natural part of the progress I think.
You really can't teach them to know when to tell you or to hold it, I feel it's just something that they are ready for or not.
Case in point- DD was terrible with telling us after the fact, peeing on the floor when we put her in underwear, etc.
Then all of a sudden one day- BAM- it was like something clicked and a switch was clicked on and she would come and tell us and hold it until she got to the potty.
We didn't do anything special- it just happened.
At daycare they put them on the potty like every hour - so I think maybe that helped her to finally "get" it too.

Ok. We aren't really potty training her just yet but she's started to sit on the toilet after every pee or poop on her own the last two days. She'll put it all together soon enough.
