Potty training boys

My Twins are 26 months. I have one in size 7 diapers & the other in 5. (Yes, I know huge difference)
The twin in size 7 is going to have to learn first because of the size diaper issue. Please let me know at what age boys are usually trained?

The nursery school we are looking at requires training by start of school in sept. Should I find another school? Or do you think they will be trained. They will be 3yrs in October.

Potty training boys

We just PT my DS 2 weeks ago - he was 3 this past October and had positively no interest in training. We finally just did it during the recent snowstorm since we knew we'd be home for 4 days straight. He was pee trained by the 4th day - we're still working on him going poop on the potty, but I'll take it!

His school allows them to come in pull-ups and would change him if he had a poop accident in his pull up. We were looking at another school, but he had to be PT by September, and I just didn't feel comfortable pushing him to PT if he wasn't ready. I did not want to PT for months (like I've seen some of my friends do).

Re: Potty training boys

Have you started trying yet? It took us a few months & then someone on here mentioned the video "Potty Power." It helped my son out so much, I think that was the main reason that he finally learned. One day, after several months of trying & watching the video 100s of times, we just took his diapers, put him in underwear, & went out all day with him. It was a miracle, he was fully potty trained day & night, poop & pee, just like that! This happened about 5 days before his 3rd birthday! I don't know about the school situation, if it was me I would be very nervous about having a deadline, but I would give it a try now, & see how much they are interested and catch on.
Good luck!!

ETA: I'm not trying to scare you, I was just sharing my own experience. I heard that the 3 day potty training method works very well!

Potty training boys

My DS potty trained in just 3 days at 25 months old. He showed no interest before starting, but I gave the 3 day method a chance(followed it to a tee) and it worked like a charm with him. He was nap/night trained by the end of day one and fully trained by the end of day three. He was even easier to train than my girls. So don't let anyone try to scare you! Good luck!

My ds is 24 months and he is almost pee trained. He picked it up so quick so it can be done.

I was in the same situation last year at this time; my son's b-day is 10/26 and he needed to be trained for school in Sept (I was also in the situation 6 yrs ago too with my oldest DD--a Sept baby--but I was more worried with a boy).

I did not train "early," but more or less did the 3 day method late July (so, 2 yrs 9 mos) and it worked like a charm! I liked having the deadline--it actually got ME into gear!

Re: Potty training boys

I think you have plenty of time to get it done. You can do it over the summer, which is usually easier because they have less clothes on.
