Potty help!

I need some help! My son who is 2 years 3 months seems to be ready for the potty. At home he will sit on the smaller one and has gone a few times. At daycare he will not go on the larger potty and screams! He sometimes gives us a hard time too.

Any tricks you have will be helpful! We bought him underwear but we haven't tried them yet. Do they help?

My best advice is to go cold turkey and train with underwear only. I'd give him a heads up a few days before and let him know that there will be no more diapers since he is a big boy now.

Look into the three day method...worked like a charm for my kids!

I trained DS at this exact age.

3 day method (kinda... made it up as I went along). No diapers. No underwear first day. Second day introduce underwear. Amazing praise when pee gets in potty. I kept the potty in the middle of wherever we were. No going out for the training period. There will be plenty of wet underwear & poop in underwear after. It took 3 months for him to get poop down... but was fully & perfectly potty trained by 2.5. BTW: I do use diaper to go to sleep. He never has woken up with a dry diaper to this day.

The fear of a toilet is another animal.

I didn't have kids in daycare. My friends who do all said that their daycare essentially potty trained the kids. I don't know how to deal with that question... but I think consistency is super important.
