pot roast?
the begining of the year DH and I made a pot roast (i think) that was out of this world. i cant remember exactly how to make it and was looking on line but cant find all the details.
It was very basic. (done on stove top) Put meat in pot ? cup water 2 large onions cook
when done remove meat add some flour to thicken up gravy
does this sound like anything that you cooked before? I need the finer details.
Thanks

Re: pot roast?
i'm not positive about that particular recipe, my mom used to cook it like that though!
i do have a simple pot roast recipe though
1packet onion soup mix 1-2 cans jellied cranberry sauce pot roast
throw it in the crock pot and there you go! Yummy!!

Re: pot roast?
It's not your recipe but the one I make is super easy too:
Season meat with salt, pepper, garlic powder. Sear all sides on high heat until brown Add 2 cups beef broth & 2 cups of water (enough to almost cover the roast) Simmer for 1-1/2 hours. Add Sliced onion, carrots, celery (any other root veggie like parsnips, potatoes or turnips are good too) Simmer another 1/2 hour or until veggies are fork tender.
Take out meat and veggies. Mix 1 cup of juice with 2 tbs cornstarch ... wisk back into pot and bring to a boil. Let it thicken.
Serve over noodles, rice or mashed potatoes

Re: pot roast?
My mom made this yesterday-I walked in to pick up DS, it smelled sooooo good!
Brown meat Add water to about 1/2 way over meat 2 bay leaves 3 carrots 1 onion chopped small 4 beef bouillon cubes
Let simmer on oven on med/low for a couple of hours.
Take meat out, strain out carrots (to eat), and make gravy by adding flour/water mixture to thicken.
