Postpartum exercising
Did any of you ladies workout after your lo was born? Dd is 2.5 weeks old and I'd love to do workout DVDs and run in the treadmill while home. Is this ok to start now or do I need to speak with my Ob/wait til my visit with her at 6 weeks postpartum?

Re: Postpartum exercising
My doctor gave me the ok to start working out after 2 weeks postpartum. I started at 3 weeks with home videos and at 4 weeks I started running again. Would have started earlier witht the running but with the breast feeding and all, I hardly find any time to leave my house.

Postpartum exercising
I had a CS so I had to wait 6 weeks. I would speak with your Dr and also start slow. As great as I felt from day one I still found excercise to be tough.

My OB said to hold off till 6 weeks but I also teared pretty bad. I felt fine by about 3 weeks but wasn't risking ripping or anything

Re: Postpartum exercising
I think it depends on your delivery. If you didn't have a C-section, and didn't have stitches, you'd prob be fine to do a light workout.
Keep in mind your body still has a good amount of the hormone relaxin going through it, which loosens the joints to prepare for child birth. So lifting weights and doing things that cause your body to be unstable are not recommended prior to 6 weeks PP.

Postpartum exercising
I started at 2 weeks w/o asking my dr. I had a vaginal birth, my bleeding only lasted a week, and I only had a couple stitches that were gone by the 2 week mark so I felt fine doing it.
Everybody is different though, so I would go by how you're feeling and if you're worried just ask your dr.

Same here... one night my parents stopped by and DH and I ran out to Target (big night out!!!) and by the time I walked to the back of the store I was WIPED. I didn't even think it would be an issue since I'm up and down all day and live in a 2-story house. I couldn't believe how exhausted/sore I was.
I have no experience with a vaginal delivery but I would ask your doc to be sure.

Re: Postpartum exercising
I had a vaginal delivery and my ob was so upset with me that I was doing so much walking. (my kids were in the nicu and I really didnt have much of a choice) She also said it is why I was bleeding for so long.
