Postpartum c section
I'm 7 weeks today, just had my 6 week postpartum visit, I had a c section and great recovery but was told I can't engage in high impact exercise or heavy lifting for 3 months. Anyone else have this?

Nope. My OB told me to grab a martini on my way home to celebrate being back to normal!

Postpartum c section
I was told the same thing and delivered vaginally. It's because your pelvic floor is still weak. PLEASE take their advice. I followed their advice and still wound up with a grade 2 prolapse at 9 months postpartum!!! Cycling, walking, etc are all fine. Lay off running until at least 3 months. I'd say 9-12 months is ideal.

No I didn't think about it until after I left! I had such a busy day and rushed in and out! I'll have to call tomorrow to talk to him!

Re: Postpartum c section
I was told at 6 weeks that I can start long walks and to hold off on cycling or high impact aerobic type exercising until 6 months PP. Then at my 6 month PP checkup I was given full clearance. My doc says everyone heals and gets their muscle strength back differently. Listen to your doc and don't overdo it. You don't want to set yourself back.

Same for me with my doctor too. He also asked me to not do abdominal exercises for another couple of months to make sure my insides were healed enough as well.
