Posting for dh grandmother....

Dh grandmother was put into a nursing home. We need to rehome her two cats. The male Oliver is five, he is fixed and declawed. He has a lot of black coloring with some white fur. Sassy is 13, spayed and declawed. Due to Sassy's age, she will probably come live with us. But we are trying to find a home for Oliver. For more info,
please fm me asap.
Thanks.

Would it be completely impossible for you to care for both cats? It seems so sad that these two cats are going to be seperated after living together for the last 5 years or so.

Unfortunately, I don't know anyone looking for a cat but you could post a listing on Petfinder.com.

Good Luck!

Your talking to the biggest animal/cat lover alive. Being that they only lived together for about two years and cannot stand each other... well I think I am making a good choice about this. Besides Oliver(the five year old) would be much better off as the sole cat.

As for taking two instead of one... that would mean I would have four cats ( and one that would be better off as the only cat). That is a lot. I mean I am the crazy cat lady.. but not that crazy. Gotta think of my cats too.

Awww that's too bad that they don't get along. But I guess when it comes to rehoming them it will be alittle eaiser on you since they don't have to be together.

Like I said in my PP, maybe you can do a listing on PetFinder.com.

Good luck!!

Re: Posting for dh grandmother....

I just thought of this but it is kind of an expensive resolution to your situation...

The Kent Animal Shelter in Calverton offers a "retirement" program for cats that "survive" their owners. In this case it's not that Grandma died but that she did have to go to the nursing home.

At any rate, for a fee, they will take care of your cat for the rest of its life. This might be an option for the older one.

Here's the link.

Aww. Thank you very much. That is very nice of you, but I think we are going to keep Sassy. The thought of rehoming a senior cat is very sad and being that she does know dh and myself... I think it is our only choice.
Thank you again.
