Post your 6M old's Feeding Schedule please..
DS has been drinking 5 6oz bottles a day, every three hours and eating "breakfast" of oatmeal and a fruit or veg at the second feeding, like this:
7am- bottle
10am- oatmeal/fruit followed by bottle
1pm- bottle
4pm- bottle
7pm- bottle
However lately he does't drink all 6 ounces at every feeding, or takes half a bottle and then finishes it an hour later.
Ped says not to add a second meal until 7/8 months but a good friend of mine's ped disagrees and has them eating 2 meals at 6 months. My friend suggested I do breakfast first at 7am, then hold off on the first bottle until 9ish so DS goes down for a nap without fussing. She also suggested dropping a bottle or two and upping the ounces to 7 or 8 per bottle and adding a dinner feeding of cereal & veg.
Another friend of mine told me they need their bottles at this age and not to drop a bottle. I know their main source of nutrition is supposed to be formula or BM until age 1 and that feeding is just practice, right?
I'm thinking maybe I'll only drop one bottle for now and up the other bottles to 7 ounces.

I BF and Anthony has been eating solids since 4 months. At his 5 month visit, his ped recommended that we up his meals from 2 to 3!! It's so crazy how much each doctor differs when it comes to this. Just do what you feel comfy with!
This is his typical daily schedule.
6am - BF
7 or 8 - Oatmeal and Fruit
9am - BF
12pm - BF and Fruit or Veggie
3pm - BF
5pm - Oatmeal (or Mixed Grains) and Veggie
7pm - BF to bed
We just started Stage 2 fruits/veggies this week and his ped wants to start meats at 6 months in about a week or so, but I'm going to wait a little longer for that.

the times vary by when he gets up- but this is the general feeding schedule
5:30- first breastmilk bottle (5oz)
8- 3 oz bm snack
10- bm bottle (5 oz)
11- 1 tbsp of oatmeal, 1 tbsp of bm and 4 oz fruit
Every 2-3 hours bottle (5 oz)
7:00- 2tbsp cereal, 2 tbsp bm and 4 oz of veggies
Right after 3 ounces of bm
8:00 final bottle- usually formula (5 oz)
eta- we are at 2 meals now but I am talking to the ped next week at his 7 month about moving to 3 meals a day

My DS' bedtime WAS 7pm and he would wake up at 7am but since we went on vacation to Disney a couple of weeks ago, his schedule changed by 2 hours and now he goes to bed at 9pm and wakes up at 9am (he always needs his 12 hours! lol)
our Ped told us to start giving him 2 meals a day at his 5 month appointment (granted she said he is the size of an average 10 month old!) and that we can begin stage 2 @ 6 months which we just started! so much fun, so many options!
8:30-9am...wakes up
9am...8oz bottle
11am...fruit
1pm...7oz bottle
4pm...7oz bottle
6pm...veggie
8:30pm...8oz bottle
9pm...goes to bed

At 6m, this was DS' feeding schedule (times are approximate):
6:30a- nurse
9:30a- 5oz bottle
12:30p- 5oz bottle, then 4 tbsp oatmeal
3:30p- 5oz bottle
5:00p- stage 1 veggie
7:00p- nurse, then bed
At 6.5 months we started fruits, which we would give with the oatmeal around lunchtime.

My DD is 5 1/2 months and this is her schedule:
7am--6.5 oz bottle
9:30am--oatmeal& fruit
10:30am--6.5 oz bottle
1:30pm--6.5 oz bottle
3:30pm--oatmeal & veg
4:30pm--6.5 oz bottle
6:30pm 6.5 oz bottle
Since we've started with solids (our ped had us start w/ 2x's a day) she hasn't been finishing her last bottle (sometimes only eats 2-3 oz.) At 6 months we can start doing 3 xs a day.

I am insanely jealous that your DS sleeps until 9ish. Mine used to do that but for a couple months now its been 6:30 or 7 Teach me your tricks! We're going to FL in July, maybe it will work for me too!

My DD is now 11 mos old but I remember her 6 mo schedule so will share.
It amazes me how different pediatrican's are...mine had us start a 3rd meal at 6 mos. My sis-in-law just told me hers wants her DS on all table food by 9 mos.
Also - formula is definitely the most important form of nutrition at 6 mos. My ped said it doesn't matter in how many bottles they get it though...just as long as they are getting around 24oz.
We dropped to 3 bottles at 6 mos. There just wasn't enough time in the day for DD to take more bottles than that plus her 3 meals.
Her schedule looked like this
Wake - 8oz bottle
9am - cereal w/ fruit
Nap
Noon - lunch (3in1 Yo Baby Yogurt)
2-3pm-ish - 8oz bottle
Nap
5pm - dinner (veggie)
7pm (bedtime) - 8oz bottle
I would definitely suggest dropping a bottle if your DC isn't finishing them all. Maybe make the other bottles more ounces.

cereal is either oatmeal, barley or rice I mix them up
9am ish cereal, fruit and 6 oz bottle
12ish veggie and cereal and 6 oz bottle
3ish 6 oz bottle
6ish cereal, fruit and 6 oz bottle
9ish 6 oz bottle then bed
We went to the Dr. on Fri and he said to start on chicken and beef at lunchtime
DS is a big boy. His 5 month appointment he was 20.4 lbs. His 6 month appointment is coming up I am guessing he is about 22 lbs

Our routine looks like this. Our ped said to give her two "meals," so my DD would BF at 12ish instead.

haha thanks! it is nice not waking up at the crack of dawn but it comes with a price because now he goes to bed at 9 instead of 7! which actually isn't too bad either...when we were in FL, we would go out to eat dinner at about 8 (something we would have never done at home!) so he just started getting used to stayig up later and waking up later!! I bet that it will happen to you too!!

I preferred to start foods later, and had to basically justify my decision to my ped. We wound up "compromising" by starting at 5 months.
