Post interview question
I went on an interview yesterday for a position in a school district. It was for an aid position. I'm not sure how I did on the interview? I did give it my best, but felt there were some questions I may have not answered with quite what they had in mind?
They mentioned they would let me know by yesterday afternoon or this morning and I haven't heard anything from them yet. Is it safe to assume that I didn't get the position? I am not sure what to make of it the timing. It's been a while since I've been on an interview! At what point should I send a thank you note to the principal?
Thanks for any advice or feedback!

Post interview question
I usually send a thank you the day I interviewed, or the next morning. I am in HR and do interviews and hiring. I know sometimes I say I will get back to someone by this date but sometimes things happen beyond their control and it takes longer.

Re: Post interview question
I would mention something that specifically happened in your interview.
ie: It was great to learn more about your xyz program, thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me.
Longer, but you get the idea. LOL.

I always use something simple like this:
Dear Mr. Smith,
Thank you for meeting with me today to discuss the Aid position. It was enjoyable speaking with you and going over my qualifications and background. I feel I would be an excellent fit in this position and would love the opportunity to for SCHOOL NAME.
I appreciate the time you took to interview me. I look forward to hearing from you about this position.
Sincerely, Danielle LASTNAME
