Post baby body

Ok I know it's still early and I shouldn't freak but will I ever lose all the loose skin?! I gained about 50lbs during my pregnancy and had the baby on st. Patricks day so just over a month ago. I think I'm down 30 but my stomach is terrible.

Any suggestions?

Had baby at same time, have you worn a belly band / wrap? I've been and it made a huge difference in my stomach. You can try wearing one now if you haven't already ! My PP check up is this week, once I get the ok for exercise I plan on long walks and some muscle toning . Once you get the ok from your doc, that will go a long way in making your stomach look better. When is your check up? Talk to OB about what you can do exercise wise

It depends. Genetics plays a lot. Some people can have their skin go back others never do. So you will get answers all over the place.

I use the velcro belly band from babies r us, nothing fancy and I don't always wear it. I've been going for walks every other day. I have my appointment this week also so once I get the OK I'm going to do Jillian Michael's 30 day shred program.

You can't train the elasticity in your skin. So no matter what you do, if your skin doesn't have the elasticity to bounce all the way back, it won't. Working out will definitely help tighten up everything inside, which will make your stomach look better overall. So the best thing for it is, unfortunately, time.

You literally JUST had a baby, so it's too soon to be freaking out that it's never going to go back (I felt the same way after having my first). My stomach basically went back to normal after my first kid, my skin was definitely a bit stretched, but got way better than 1 month out!

So don't freak out just yet! Give yourself time to heal, time to start exercising, and know it will be a slow progression, but it will bounce back from where you are now.

ITA... after the first, it took a little while but everything went back to normal for the most part. After the second, it's a whole new ball game. I'm pretty sure it'll never be the same again sadly.

I agree too. After my first I had a flat stomach again and the skin looked pretty tight. After my second, the skin never went quite back.
