Possible silly question re: burping...

Gianna is on day 10 of eating solids, and so far so good! She still eats four bottles a day (plus 2xs a day eating approx 2 oz of cereals and veg/fruit mixed). I burp her as I normally would after eating bottles, but I'm not sure about what I should do when she eats solids.

Do you burp dc after eating solids? I did the first few times to help her along, and now she seems to do it on her own like a total champ.

Just curious as to what you all do...

Thanks!

I didn't burp after solids. It never even occurred to me. It's usually after bottles where they gulp down air & liquid at the same time.

I never did, for the same reasons Barb said.

IIRC, your DD is a little younger, right? Does she sit up by herself? If she doesn't then maybe burping her is a good ideaChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Yup! She'll be four mos on the 11th. She's propped up (5 pt harness) in her highchair, and she can't sit up on her own fully yet. She does for a few seconds and then wobbles down. She can burp on her own, but not consistently.
