Possible Bedrest at 27 Weeks!!!

Well ladies, at 27 weeks I might be getiting put on bedrest...!!! I keep contracting and though they think it's all Braxton Hicks, they're quite frequent. (At one point today I had 4 contractions in 5 minutes!) Being a teacher and on my feet all day isn't helping. I'm supposed to take a couple days off then call next week to see what the DR thinks. I'm hoping I get to work a little longer though!! Will keep you all posted!

i was put on bed rest at 32 weeks
im not going to lie; it kinda stinks but just remember, NOTHING is more important than that baby

you gotta do whatever the Dr. says

Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest!!! The baby is most important--work can wait!

i contracted from 25 weeks on, every 1-5 minutes.

from 25-29 weeks they sent me on my way with terbutaline to stop the contractions... which worked for the most part, but the side effects were horrid.

at 29 weeks the meds would not stop the contractions. i had to go on bed rest until 36 weeks. i ended up making it to 39 weeks, 4 days.

here's the kicker - i never had any cervical changes. didn't begin effacing/dilated until 36 weeks. so these were basically "false" contractions that had no bad consequences (except for making me uncomfortable).

they had to put me on bedrest because they didn't know if the contractions would eventually lead to premature labor. this is probably what they'll have to do for you...

it sux, but better safe than sorry. i'm sure you'll do just fine, though, and keep your baby till full term

I was put on bed rest at about the same time with DD - I was having the same issue - but they stopped when I laid down or sat down for long periods of time. I got them regularly when I walked around so I was on modified bed rest.

My advise is find a hobby, some good books, movies, and lots of time on here.

Thank you ladies! You're all right, I have to keep thinking that if I do get told Monday that bedrest is official that it's best for the baby. As annoying and unnerving as it might be so early! So...any suggestions on hobbies to take up??

welcome to the bedrest mommas!..i've been on limited bed rest for about 2 months..yes since week 15ish....its been long...i had placenta previa among a few other non major issues.....its not as boring as it seems..for me anyway i spent alot of time researching things for baby( iw as beginnning to register at the time)..i read a few books.....and we just started something new...each week(or really when i feel lke it lOL) we make something for hte nursery...so far we'e painted frames and decorated them with some jungle themed stamps and add-ons from michaels(cost 4 dollars a frame plus paint so cheap!)....started scrapboooking.....and started something i NEVER imagined bc its SOO Not me but the hormones got to me..i started a journal for the twins to read when they are older about how amzing they feel inside my belly and how changes are happening.....HTH>..FM if bored!

I'm on bedrest now, after being admitted to the hospital at 30w5d. I was having contractions too that they couldn't stop. Now I am 34 weeks and the babies are doing great. Its boring, but its what is best for your babies. Every day they stay inside of you, the healthier they will be!

yes..definately DONT only do baby related things..these are the last few months you will have for just YOU!...every day about an hour before rob gets home i make it a point to make a cup of tea(small cup)...light a few candles and just read a non baby related book....once hes home we have been putting things together....trying to decide on a name for baby B....looking at houses in florida..its like helter skelter....nnd in a VERY short tiime...we will be a family of 2 adults...3 VERY PEOPLELIKE dogs and 2 newborns....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
