Poss silly question....fennel UPDATE
does fresh fennel taste like fennel seeds?
I am not a huge fan of fennel seeds...the taste is always strong...but I am cooking tonight with fresh fennel(to stuff in a pork loin)

I love fresh fennel. I make a salad with mixed greens & fennel and toss it with lemon juice, olive oil, salt & pepper.

It's a lighter taste - I HATE licorice but I LOVE fresh fennel ..........

fennel came out great!
it was like tasty celery.
used fennel, onion, apples, bread crumbs to stuff inside pork loin...delicious.
