Poor snapper turtle *UPDATE* I am going to be there when they release him

I was coming home from my picnic today and on the side of the road was the huge snapper turtle. I pulled over and with the help of someone else we where able to get this big fellow in my car. He has a broken shell and a little blood in his shell. Plus a leach, I called the animal rescue for wild life and I was told to bring him to the selden animal hospital. SO I did and now he is in the right hands. I am calling tomorrow to the star foundation to see how he is. I hope they will be able to let him go back in the wild. But I do not think they will be able to. His shell was pretty bad .

Update:

I called the star foundation today. they said his crack was pretty bad like i thought. but they do feel that he will make a complete recovery in about 2 to 3 weeks they will call me and I will go with them when they go to release him back to the wild
