polyurethane odor- need advice!

We were getting the room ready for the nursery so we had the wood floor in the nursery redone (sanded and refinished). They did it yesterday and there was a terrible polyurethane odor from the shine. I slept at my moms with DD and they came back today for the second and last coat this morning. I just got home thinking the smell would be gone (we l left the windows open upstairs) but it's terrible. I'm so afraid of harming the baby. What do I do? Is it ok? I am fine with the nasty smell so long as it's not harmful. I don't want to go back to my moms. I have a nanny starting tomorrow and I need to leave for work in the morning. I'm not sure what to do! I wish when they saw that I had a young child and that I was pregnant they would have warned me of the smell, and I foolishly had no idea. Please let me know if you have experience with this/know if it's harmful/have advice. For now I plan to sleep in the basement, but it still smells down here and I'd need to go upstairs to bathe DD, cook, dress, etc. Thanks! I am freaking out!!!

I had the same problem bc our contractor used 3 layers of oil based poly. 6 mo after, it still reeked and my heightened sense of smell did not help. I ended up having to move to my parents for 6 mo bc the smell ended up making me super sick :(. I def advise staying somewhere else for a few weeks at least!
