POLL: Feeding infants: mixing oatmeal w/fruit or veg
Just curious what others do.
When mixing you do you mix the oatmeal with formula/breastmilk and THEN mix it with the fruit or veg?
Or do you just mix the oatmeal with the fruit or veg?

I would just make the oatmeal with BM as I normally would, and then mixed the fruit/veggie in.

I've done both. It really didn't make a difference. If I feel like she didn't drink enough formula, then I usually add it to the food.

I've done it ether way. Most of the time I use water to make her oatmeal. I guess most of the time I'll add it last so that I can gauge how much I need. Especially with homemade purees the consistency varies so some things are more watery to begin with.

I always just mixed it with the fruit or veggie, then checked the consistency. If it was too thick, I'd add BM to thin it out.

Same, but I use formula. DD drinks so little, that I definitely try to use as much formula as I can when making her cereal.
