Pointless post, but nonetheless...
Humor me. I realize your opinions on this won't really help me because you don't know what my dining room/kitchen look like (they're one big open conjoined room) or what style decor I'm going for, but regardless of that, tell me which lighting fixture you love. Or if you don't love either one, you can tell me that too.
I swear I change my mind between the two of them every day (and this has been going on for several weeks). I CANNOT commit.

love #2.  I lean towards more traditional styles though....
eta: I don't like #1 at all - looks like a bunch of champagne flutes hanging around.

I like one better then 2, but it really depends on if your room is more traditional or modern. I am not into the lamp shade thing.

Okay...I like #2 better because I like the way it hangs (on two points as opposed to one) but I am not really a big fan of light fixtures with shades like that in general...so I would like #2 better if you were able to replace the shades with the something frosted glass like #1....I'm sorry...I know this probably didn't help you at all.

i actually really like both but #2 would be my first pick.
will that be enough light though? sometimes when the shades are dark like that they filter the light too much. but you could always change the shades if it is a problem

It may help if you decide on which way you want the light to face. Do you want the light to shine down directly onto the person or not? I personally like when lighting faces upward and not down.
