Plus size moms: Baby carriers?
I'm currently working on my registry and was hoping to get advice from any plus-sized moms out there regarding an infant/baby carrier. I would like to register for one and was wondering if there were any you'd recommend. I'm not looking for one of those wraps that twist around you and tie -- looking for one with shoulder straps that click into a buckle. Thanks so much!

Ergo!
I also love my Infantino Mei Tai. It's not a wrap but it doesn't have a buckle.

The Britax carrier is nice and big and easy to put on.

You can try them on in the store if you're worried about the fit.

Another vote for the Ergo - it is really accommodating to different sizes and shapes which I loved since my husband's carrier (jeep brand i think) was not so boob friendly and the waist strap wasn't at the right height for me.

I'm a size 12 and the ergo just fits, but they supply free waist extenders if needed. If you look the ergo type carrier look into kinderpack and tula as well. Just make sure the carrier has a good seat, some brands put too much weight on the baby's hips.

You can try them on in the store if you're worried about the fit.
And if you like a certain brand that doesn't fit, check online for extenders or different sizes. They might only stock one size in the stores.

I would look into a tula or a kinder pack...you probably can't register for these as they are not sold in stores but they are a bit more comfortable than an ergo and can grow with the baby(I have the ergo and it was great for a period of time, but where the straps lie it gets annoying. Also if you eventually want to carry baby on your back this isn't the best carrier to use...but it's definitely affordable). Target just had one on sale for 40.00. Also, if you do decide to go with the Ergo, you do not need the insert for when baby is just born. You can roll a towel and put under your lo's bum. hth

Tula or Boba 3g. I am a 14/16 and have plenty of room. My husband is a 3XL tall and he can wear the kids as well. Not from BRU but you can get them on amazon. As a larger mom you don't want a narrow based carrier. It's a lot of stress you your back and not good for baby's hips.
