Plumbing problem
We found our first home repair this morning. The pipes under our bathroom sink are leaking. Or, I should say streaming water.
There's a flexible accordion looking pipe attached to a PVC pipe. That attachment has no coupling of any kind - it just looks like it was probably glued.
I thought hey... my first DIY. But I'm having a hard time finding good step-by-step instructions on how to do this.
I'm undecided whether I should just call my brother in law and bribe him, or if it's something that isn't that complicated.
Any advice? I have pics on my cellphone but I can't upload them to the computer. I could probably take them to the hardware store and see what they say... But I'm reading that these accordion type pipes are not very good.
If anyone has advice on where I could find out how to DIY, advice on what I can do, or how much a reputable plumber might charge to fix... I would appreciate it.

is it the incoming water or the drain?
if there is a valve you can shut it to stop the leak. You may be able to replace the accordian type pipe with a braided line if its incoming water. If its the drain & the accordian pipe is somehow being used as part of the trap you can likely diassemble the whole set up & take it to home depot or lowes & ask a salesperson there to give you the parts you need.
Post pics if you can.
