Please tell me..
a ton of houses will come to market in the spring..There isn't much inventory and its so annoying. When new houses seem to come up lately they are all old and need a ton of work...why can't someone with a really nice big house want to sell!!!! Ok, vent over!
We are working with a broker and i check MLS every morning..but its just getting frustrating.

I hope so too b/c I am seeing the same thing as you with houses on the market now. They are mostly in poor & outdated condition. The last thing I have is tons of time for renovations with 2 kids.

There will absolutely be more inventory in the spring! Look on the bright side, by searching right now you are getting more familiar with the market so that when things start picking up you will have baseline knowledge about your local market and particular neighborhoods as opposed to starting from scratch!
My buyer clients are getting so frustrated too. It seems that anything on the market right now has been on the market for quite some time and as we all know that usually means "something" is wrong. Right now, inventory on Long Island is at record lows but that will change in the spring.
summerBaby, I totally agree. We bought a handyman's special and found out we were pregnant the day after we closed. As I am typing this, my 13 month old DD is using a paint roller as a spear to chase our cat with. Doing renovations with children is no fun AT ALL!

Oh I think it's adorable and hilarious, but yes, our poor cat is a saint. Less adorable was when my husband had paint out and went to answer the door (silly man doesn't understand you can't turn your back on a baby) and came back to some very hard to clean baby art on our hardwood floors!

I actually disagree... prices are starting to come up, but more importantly, there are tons of buyers out there right now who are seriously looking and very motivated to buy while rates are low. I have seen multiple offers on many of the properties I've sold recently. And I think now is an excellent time to put a house on the market. There will be a lot more inventory flooding the market come spring, but right now, sellers have a lot less competition. And the buyers who go see homes over the holidays and in the dead of winter tend to be more serious than those who come out in the spring, who may just be starting their search.
But to the OP - Yes, I think you will see a lot more houses come on the market in March and April. Usually early spring and early fall is when we see the influx of new houses.

Looking for Wantagh school district..doesn't have to be the woods area. Want double car garage and at least 2000square feet. Need 4 bedrooms. Husband still wants Suffolk (close to his work)..if an amazing house came up in a nice part of suffolk for a nice price, maybe i could be convinced but its not going to be easy to get me to move out of nassau..lol.

I think my SIL is in the process of listing her house in Seaford.
They have done a ton of upgrades to it since they bought it.
It's slightly above Sunrise a few blocks from the train station. (You could actually probably walk it if needed).
I believe the style of house is considered a split level. Well, they have 3 floors and a basement/garage. Only 3 bedrooms though (I think this is probably one of the reasons though they want to move).
