Please recommend your FWD/AWD car...
I'm looking for a new car and I thought I liked the rav4 but now I'm not so sure. Can someone please recommend their car? Has anyone driven the Honda CR-V? It seems to be pretty comparable (price wise) to the Rav4. TIA.
eta: I've narrowed it down to the Toyota Rav4, Honda CR-V, Nissan Rogue or the Subaru Forester. Is there anyone who drives these cars that can give me some feedback? Also, if you can recommend a car salesman that you've dealt with and trusted I'd really appreciate it.

The Subaru Forrester is great! DH has a CR-V and it handles more like a truck to me. The Forrester is always highly rated in Consumer Reports.

Re: Please recommend your FWD/AWD car...
hmm... i might not be any help, lol but i have the RAV 4 and LOVE it!! so comfy to drive, has an awesome turning radius, gets good gas mileage, and gives lots of room without being TOO huge. BUT- i know my DH is a big fan of subarus... they are all AWD. he has a WRX, but the forresters and legacys are also really nice. DH is a mechanical engineer so he knows all about how cars about built, etc.. and he swears by his subaru- its got over 100,000 miles on it and still runs really well! same with how well the toyotas are built, too...

I am picking up my new CRV tomorrow . It looks so much nicer than it did a few years ago, and it has some great features. The resale value on it is pretty good and it gets good gas mileage. It also doesn't hurt that I got it for a good price. I'll have to let you know how I feel about it after driving it for a while, though. I have only test drove it, but I really liked the way it handled then.

I have a Honda CR-V. Love it, have no problems with it. My brother had one for years, too. If you have any specific questions, feel free to FM me.

I have the '08 Forester and absolutely love it! Great on gas, perfect height/space for me and my daughter (she's 8months). AWD is a dream. My only con would be the passenger seat isn't as comfy with her carseat behind it. However I believe space was addressed in the '09 body.

Thanks for all your responses. I guess now I just have to test drive each of them and go from there. Thanks again, I really appreciate all your input.

I have a subaru outback and absolutely adore it - big, big fan of subarus. They rate highest in their class for safety, gas mileage isn't so bad, and we've had literally NO issues with the car at all. Handles the road beautifully too...
