Please recommend your dc's allergist in Northshore area
Ds has been breaking out in round red itchy splotches the past 2 months. It occurs usually right after nursing so I cut out dairy and his skin got better. Then I tried eating some feta and other mild cheeses and his skin broke out worse than ever. Sme of the red splotches started turning purple and it looked like he had difficulty swallowing. We need to take ds to see an allergist ASAP. Please recommend yours if you have a good one. Ds is 7 months old TIA

DDS' both go to Dr Corriel. He is Manhasset across from Macy's and he and his partner have at one time been in best drs in NY. My ped recommended him. He was very thorough and would call me every week for several weeks when we had to put my older DD on an elimination diet.

Is his partner Dr. Markovics?? I just went to see her the other day (for myself) and noticed a TON of children in the waiting area (and Dr. Markovics had a "top doctor" award on her wall).

Yes! I have spoken to her once when Dr Corriel was on vacation. They treat adults but it is mostly kids when we go. They have both been in best drs.

After several allergist, the best we have seen, who has done WONDERS for our child is Dr. Weiss in Sysosset. We drive quite a distance just to see him even though he is REALLY out of our way.

I really don't mean to scare you but if you think he is having trouble swallowing and he has red splotches that look like hives I would take him to the ER.
I highly recommend Dr. Strauss. He is in Garden City and well worth the trip. He has done wonders for my son who has allergy induced asthma.

Re: Please recommend your dc's allergist in Northshore area
We go to Dr. Strauss also but at his Commack office. He is really great. Ds has a milk protein allergy and gets red spots around his mouth when he had dairy. He also has an egg protein allergy and gets the spots but worse, all around his mouth, his cheeks, and once his eye swelled shut. I would def make an appointment ASAP and if it happens again go straight to the ER.

Re: Please recommend your dc's allergist in Northshore area
thx everyone! we had called the pedi on call that night who recommended we give ds 1/2 tsp of benadryl. we were going to take him to ER but ds's reaction started fading and almost instantly fell asleep! he hadn't slept the whole day and we didn't have the heart to wake him after his reaction started fading. but i'm going to be scheduling an appt with one of the allergists asap and if the rxn comes back, def the ER. thank you ladies so much!!!

So glad you like him. He was great with both my girls. He would call me one to two times a week for about 2 months while we tried to figure out DD's diet and her allergies.
