We were going to stay at Secrets Capri, but had to change our plans as a result of Hurricane Dean. I can't wait to reschedule!

I would NOT recommend Excellence. We went there for the second half of my HM and were severely disappointed in it (esp for the price paid).
The other half of the HM we went to the Palladium resort. We really liked it and you get alot for your money. It isn't as "luxurious" as Excellence (though the luxury at Excellence is debatable) but is fun and nice.

Royal Hideaway - haven't gone yet - but my travel agent (my aunt) has nothing but raves about it. It's her favorite place. We;re going for our HM in June

Anyone else? I plan to go in late February.
Is it necessary to get an All Inclusive resort or is it safe and okay to eat out?
Has Anyone stayed at The Royal in Playa del Carmen All Inclusive Spa & Resort. Any feedback on this one?

This is the first time I heard a negative review about that hotel. Just curious what you did not like about the Excellence?
