I made my Target appointment (it books up fast). Price is right, and I've used them before. They are great for holiday photos
I've also used JCPennys and have been happy too!
Once went to Kmart in Huntington. It was HORRIBLE!

Never used Target for holiday pics, but I took for my DS's bday. They came out great! I have always paid too much and really impressed with Target's. They had cute props too. Nothing too cheesy.

I don't have the pics to post but I will say, I've used Target and JCP. The odd thing is they both have the same backgrounds and card designs. I guess they must both use the same company for their pics? I was a little disappointed because there aren't that many background choices and I don't like most of them. Not sure what I'll do if I use them for Christmas cards again this year since I already used the 2 backgrounds that I liked.

i don't have the pictures to post either, but just took DS 2nd birthday and holiday pictures at target and they came out really nice. i didn't make my holiday cards through them, but the pictures are great!

i booked my session with a photographer i had a groupon coupon for, Christina Marie Photography. But I just took my DD's Halloween/Thanksgiving pics at JCP and they were awesome!

imo it has more to do with the specific photographer and your lo's mood. We had a terrible shoot at bru (imo poor photog and a long wait past the appointment time made my son cranky) but a great experience at jcp.

When I booked jcp for this year, the website showed. " new" backgrounds you can look through in advance.

I did a Target shoot because I was gifted a $25 groupon. I thought they came out decent and got a few nice shots. I still take my own photos of them every year, but this was just nice to have.

We used Target last year for family photos with Grandma and Grandpa.
The pictures (of the shots we could get) were very nice and have 2 of them framed in the house.
My one complaint. DD (who was 1.5 yo) screamed bloody murder when they guided her into the studio and shut the door. The room was cluttered with backgrounds, props. It was semi-dark and she just flipped out. We asked if the door could be left open and the photographer said no, so we got one photo of her with us, but not my parents and we had to stop the photo shoot and take her outside. As soon as she was outside the photo room, she was fine and happy.
Ever since, I take her to a private photographer who captures images of DD in her element. We redid the above photo shoot with my parents a month or so later and it was night and day the difference with DD and the photos we have bring such a warm smile to my face.
It could have been DDs age or the studio. I will attempt Target again in the far future, but not anytime soon with DD.
