PLEASE, I need sleep advice for my 9mo old

I am so upset by all this. She just won't sleep anymore without being completely walked to sleep, and even then after doing this she pops her head up and immediately stands and cries.

What to do? I tried again CIO last night did the 5-10-15 and then every 15 min increments of going in and shhing her to go back to sleep. Finally she stopped crying, but not competely. It was more a hunched over position with occassional wimpers/cries. Finally at 5am I repositioned her to her belly and she slept until 8:30am. Chat Icon

What am I doing wrong, cause it's breaking my heart!!! I am trying the same thing for her naps, but again getting the same result.

Overall, she was never a horrible sleep, and even now there are some nights she will sleep for 12 hours with little effort from us. But other nights, NOT! So at 9 months, we need to break the walking to sleep...RIGHT?!

Thank you for the advice!!

It could be her teeth bothering her. I had DD sleeping on her belly at that age, and she definately sleeps better that way. Maybe try to give her Motrin before bed. Hope it gets better. Chat Icon

This sounds wierd asking, but how do I know if it's her teeth or not? During the day she is fine.
She has 2 already. We go to the ped monday, so I plan to ask her too.
I feel like I am torturing her to go to bedChat Icon

Look for other signs of teething...disruption of food habit, maybe a mild diaper rash or cheek chapness...drooling, unexplained runny nose (clear) or pulling on ears, etc.

DS sleeps HORRIBLY right before he pushes a tooth, and is usually no symptomatic until a day or 2 after he has a sleepless night.

Don't feel badly. Sometimes the teething signs are so subtle, and especially when you have a good sleeper it is hard to figure out why they are not sleeping.

I would maybe rather than mortin try one of the natural teething tablets first to see if it helps.Chat Icon

I was thinking that. Can I get them at the drug store, or do I have to go to BRU for them?

I'm in the same place right now. DD has 2 teeth so she may be teething, but her sleep habits went from pretty good to awful!

We started CIO for a nap on Christmas (I feel like a monster even though she only cried for 10 minutes) and it's been working during the day but at night she's been waking up at 2 and 3am and refusing to go back to sleep in her crib. And because my defenses are at their lowest at 3am, I've been bringing her to bed with us which means no one really sleeps.

Everyone keeps telling me that it's harder on the mom than the baby. I hope that's true. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Last time I checked Walgreens had them. Chat Icon I haven't had to shop for them in a while though, but they had them in the baby aisle. CVS carries them too I think.
