Please help not sure what to do
I am so upset. I have been sick for a while now and after many doctor visits it turns out I am allergic to my animals and they need to go 
I need to find a home for my two cats, my parents are taking the dog.
The two cats are SO amazing. They are loveable, playful & sweet. They are indoor cats but also like to go outside for a little adventure. They can be turned into outdoor cats.
One is a 2yr old orange and white cat (his bday is may 30th!) and the other is a 4yr old Grey and white cat.They do not need a new home together.
If anyone has any interest or knows where/ how I can find them a good home, please FM me. I am devestated by this but it has to be done.

I am so sorry you have to get rid of them. They are both simply gorgeous. If I didn't have two cats already, I would take them in a second. I helped another LIFer in January by adopting her adult cat because her family was allergic, so maybe you will have the same luck. Did you try posting on LI Weddings also? Since alot of couples are getting married at this time of the year maybe they would want a pet. You should also try craigslist.org (free advertising) under pets. You can also make signs with their pictures and put them up in supermarkets and the library. I wish you the best of luck.

1 more thing. It might be a good idea to include that they have shots (if they don't it might be a good idea). That is important to alot of people. Hopefully they can stay together.

They are beautiful There is a cat rescue at Pet Supplies Plus in Smithtown (on Main St). Can't hurt to give them a call. Good luck

you might not have to give up your animals. alot of people that are allergic, actually get over the allergies or they get better. i would recommend looking into medicine you can take or look up living with allergies. there's no reason for you to give up your family

Great advice. Hope it works out.
I agree- I was extremely allergic to my cats when I first got them- and each time it cleared itself up as my body built up a tolerance to that animal- it's similar to allergy shots where they introduce the allergan into your body- so you build up a natural tolerance to it.
Also- medications etc are always an option..

I just wanted to let you know if you do have to find a new home for your kitties, my heart goes out to you! 
I would look into what other posters have said about living with the allergy.. or hopefully outgrowing it eventually.
Your cats really are beautiful  Unfortunately, we have 2 in an apartment and would not have any room for 2 more.
If you DO ultimately need to find a new home and unable to on your own, what about North Shore Animal League?

My allergies just developed I never had them before and the allergist I saw said that happens sometimes and it might get worse before it gets better, IF it gets better. Makes me so upset. I am allergic to allergy medicine (zyrtec, claritin, etc) but can take benedryl although it makes me very sleepy.
However, this weekend my fiance and I put the cats outside (they have all their shots and flea and tick control etc). They loved it out there so much.We were able to SCRUB down the house very well. We did a huge spring cleaning. The cats really love it outside. They dont leave the yard and when we call their names they come running. Its cute. We left them out the other day for about 8 hours so I was scared they went far, when I called their names they were both just hanging out in the shade under a bush. They sleep in the computer room at night.. which is like a paradise for them. They have a huge couch and toys haha.
This really helps because there is alot less hair in the hosue. I am hoping if we can keep something like this up I can manage with them through the summer and then see what happens again in the winter. I really hope so I dont want to get rid of them
