please help me get him to sleep like a normal child again. LONG

Ds is just 20 months and sttn. My issue is he is now getting up EVERY morning between 3:30 -4am. This has been going on for about a month.

He goes to bed normally 7:30-8 ish. He eats during the day still has a few bottles and is your typical kid. Just doesn't stay asleep past the abovr time.

I can NOT continue to do this. It is starting to take a toll on both my mental and physical. I am seriously done with him and everyine by 7 pm. I keep him up so dh can see him for a few mins before bed. But it is killing me. I am a constant b!tch (surprise to some of you, i can actually be somewhat pleasant) i snap at a freaking cheerio on the floor and it is just to much. My days start at 4 am and i get no relief until bed at 7-8. So how do i makenhim sleep?

We have tried putting him in later, he got up even earlier. I cant drug the kid so what next. He gets a soothing cozy bath befor bed most nights (every other). Im at a loss and im freaking exausted.

Thanks.

Does he scream at 4-430 or could you let him play in his crib. Is he napping the same during the day? Maybe make his nap a little earlier in the day.
My ds is teething he just turned 2 and is getting up about and hour earlier than normal as well this week.

He does scream. I go in put his music back on he lays down. 10 mins later he screams. The other morning i was so tired he screamed for 45 mins. His naps are usually around 10:30 am. They are later on the days he has school. And he sleeps a good 3-4 hours.

Well as you have probably read, my DD is pretty much a nightmare sleeper and a very early riser ( usually 5am'ish) ..

Is it possible that something is waking him up at that time ? Neighbor that leaves for work , sprinklers kicking on, newspaper being delivered etc...?

I always try to rule out environmental reasons first

I know this could be playing with fire but what if you threw off his clock by half wakling him up at like 2am to change his diaper ( leave the lights off etc...) Maybe it would re-set him a little ?

Good Luck, I know sleep deprivation too well ( maybe its a Ronkonkoma thing Chat Icon )

Hmmm....sleeping for 3-4 hours coul;d be an issue too Chat Icon

I might try to cut that to 2-2.5 for a few days and see if that helps Chat Icon

I also think the long nap is killing him. Try to gradually shorten it. Maybe get him right up and take a ride somewhere. I know my kids are happy if I wake them and take them out but not if we're just going to sit home.

Well you could just let him play in his crib for another hour or so and leave a couple of toys for him.

Or what I have done - which I can say is NOT for everyone - but when my girls would wake at 4 or 5 am I would bring them into bed and go back to sleep for a little while we didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn. They learned to go right back to sleep and would then stay asleep until 7 or until I had to get up.

Have u tried putting him to bed earlier, I know you said you try to keep him up for DH, but at this point, I would just bite the bullet and try to put him down earlier. I know with DD the later we put her down the earlier and grumpier she wakes up!
