Please help me - my DS hates formula...

I've been slowly weaning DS and now 4/5 of his feedings are formula. The problem is he HATES formula. He is fine with solids - eats like a champ and was a good eater with BM but now - he will only eat the formula if he is half asleep or if i mix it with cereal AND fruit and feed it to him with a spoon and bowl. I think I spend half my day trying to get him to eat He makes faces and pushes the bottle away and spits out the formula sometimes. I wish I could just forget about formula and just give him solids.

I tried the mixing BM and formula and it helped to get him to take it in the beginning but, I can't do this forever. Will he ever drink the formula willingly?? Does anyone have any experience with this?

What about mixing 3/4 BM and 1/4 formula for a couple of day, then 1/2 and 1/2, and then 1/4 BM and 3/4 formula. Hopefully then he'll get used to the taste of formula.

I was just going to say the same thing... try even slower if he has an issue with 3/4 to 1/4, and so on.

Try half an ounce of form with the rest BM per bottle. Then try 1oz, and keep upping it by .5 ounce til he gets used to the taste! Over time of course....

It may just trick him into it, and before you know it... he'll be drinking nothing but form!

My son hated it also, I did the slowly mixing BM and Formula trick and it worked really well, he got used to the taste in about 2 weeks. Sucker! lol.

I did mix it and it helped him to take it - whereas before he was not taking more than a sip but, that said although he will take it he still doesn't like it and won't drink enough of it. So i guess unless i keep mixing it he will never like it? UGH UGH UGH!
