Please Help!! Is this an Allergic Reaction??
Okay, so we just got home from our niece's First Birthday Party. After she stuck her hand in the icing, she touched DS' face, by his mouth and his ear. DH wiped it off, no problem. Then about 15-20 min later I notice DS' face where there was icing was red. That was about 1 Hr ago, and it's still red. Took DS' temp it was 99.8.
Is this some type or allergic reaction to the icing? How do we know what it is?? He's been on regular (milk-based) formula, so I initially think it's not an allergy to milk.
Any thoughts? If it's still red tomorrow we're going to call the Dr.

There might be another ingredient in the icing that he's allergic to.

There's a chance it could be an allergy to the dye in it. Personally I'm allergic to yellow dye #5...

my neice has a red dye allergy.
ETA: just reread to see that it was red icing.
My niece wasn't diagnosed with it till she was 2, nothing life threatening or anything...just avoiding it helped her digestive system.

red icing stains. Could it just be a stain from the icing?

The icing was not red. Int my original post I said the areas on his face where there was frosting were red. The frosting was white mostly, but some parts were pink and purple if memory serves me right. I put him to bed just after 7pm (about 2 hrs after contact) and the redness on his face and ear had diminished.
I didn't even think of other ingredients in the frosting like butter and eggs. Neither of which Troy has had.
