PLEASE Help in search of Ob/Gyn
Hi All, well I am so excited that I can finally post here...I am moving over from the infertility board...after a 2 year wait it has finally happened...and there are two...right now I am 6w1d...
I had my re appt. today and she informed me that next week would be my last appt...she gave me the go ahead on calling my ob/gyn...problem is I am in search of a new Dr. I have moved to nassau and my ob/gyn is in smithtown...obviously not convenient...so I have a few names that my RE gave me and was wondering if anyone here has used any of these practices... the names are Valerie Muoio or Heather Applebaum...Please share if you have any experiences with either Dr.
I know that many of you have posted wonderful things about Dr. Heather Hanauer..who else is in her practice? Do you like them?
I hate to leave my practice because I loved them!!! But I must! :)
I live in Port Washington...so if there is any other practice you would recommend please do so...I would like to call them tomorrow!
Thanks Ladies!! I appreciate any help!!

It's Jennifer Hanauer - she is in Garden City and I love her. The other doctor in the practice is Dr. Dolisi who I am also very comfortable with and I have not seen a male gyno before him. I think there are 2 or 3 others that cover for them in emergencies, but I haven't met them.

Re: PLEASE Help in search of Ob/Gyn
i used to go to dr. heather applebaum. sorry but i don't like her. she took no interest in my pregancy. being that this is my first, i didn't know what to ask and she volunteered no information. i didn't know if she was the one pregnant or me cuz she was very sluggish everytime i saw her.
i switched to another practice by referal from friends to Northern Ob in North Hills and am so much more happy with their service. they have 4-5 doctors there but i like dr. chung and dr. fried the most. give them a call!

Re: PLEASE Help in search of Ob/Gyn
I use this group I have not yet to see Scavo or Putterman, but have seen Rosenberg and Caffaro. I have never gone to a male before and I love them both. I have been very happy with the group so far.

Thanks for all of your help ladies...I think I am going to call University ob/gyn tomorrow....
I just wanted to let you know that I switched to them once I was 8 weeks because of problems with my old ob. They saw me for the 12 week appointment and I sat with Dr. Rosenberg for close to an hour talking about family history and pregnancy expectations. I was so impressed with this standard practice that did not happen at my old ob. My DH who was a nervous wreck "having" to go with me also couldn't believe how comfortable they made it for him.

Curly Q
Thanks again...I was able to get appointment with Dr. Rosenberg in a few weeks...so I will continue with my RE until then...but I am relieved to have found a new Dr. that people can recommend...I feel like this is so important now because I won't be going just for your typical yearly appointments so I just wanted to find someone good..I will keep you posted as to how my appt. goes...enjoy your weekend!

I just switched to this place and LOVE it so far! I saw Dr. Rosenberg and he was great! This is our first and he answered all questions and we talked for a while. My cousin recommended after I was not happy with my old place. University is great so far and glad to deliver at Winthrop! Hope to see ya in the waiting room Best of luck!
