People will generally recommend the school district they are in if they are happy with it.
Here are the latest Newsday rankings. You can now sort them. I sorted them by "plans to go to a 4 year college" in descending order. There are other ways to look at the schools if you go to the right side of the page such as graduation rates, regents exams, etc.
