Play place RAVE!
I've been meaning to post this but kept forgetting. As many of you are aware, my younger daughter Lila has a brain injury and is developmentally delayed as a result. She turned 1 on 9/1 and leading up to her birthday, I was trying to find some place fun to take her. For my older daughter, we took her to Gymboree. So I asked around and came across this new place called Pixie Dust that is special needs friendly. I sent a message to the owner on Facebook to see if they could accommodate us and a 1 year old who is unable to sit or play without help. She assured me that she would arrange some activities and we would have the place to ourselves.
Boy did she deliver! Unfortunately she was unable to be there but someone in her staff guided us for the hour we were there through some stations set up throughout the play space. Lila got to do so many things from a variety of sensory activities such as a bucket of feathers and Pom poms to sensory bags filled with different textures to oats and then musical toys and even dress up. I was seriously blown away. Since they are special needs friendly, we were asked if it was ok for the lights and/or music to be on. Before we left, I looked around and there were so many other things for kids to do and some really cute stuff for sale up front.
They really gave us a great opportunity to give Lila a special birthday. I cannot recommend this place enough for all kids of all abilities. Check them out!!

Ooh someone posted about this place not to long ago. I believe it was PearljamChick. I went on there fb page to check them out. It looks adorable and absolutely love its geared to those with special needs. Im so glad your lil girl had such an amazing bday!!
