Planters for the stoop?????
So last year we bought four beautiful clay, Italian planters that were very pricey! We got married last summer so didn't care about spending the extra money on something nice, since it was our first summer married, in our house.
Any who, fast foward to a few weeks ago when we took them out and they are cracked! The bottoms of them look like they are slivers of pieces :( I'm so upset over this.
So, my question for you ladies and gents, what is my best bet for planters since clay isn't as sturdy as I thought? Polyurethane? Plastic? I want something that looks elegant since the front of our house is all redone. Also, where can I find the ones you suggest? TIA!

Re: Planters for the stoop?????
Even some of the plastic ones look like ceramic now. Target, Walmart, Lowe's, HD, Hick's has sales sometimes. Great selections at most of these stores.
As for the clay or ceramic pots, you have to take the dirt out over the winter so they don't crack and put them in the garage or shed to protect them some.

Re: Planters for the stoop?????
I have to check those places out, thanks!
About the clay pots....we took out MOST of the dirt and put them in the garage. I guess the problem was that our garage needs to be replaced and there is a gap at the top of the garage that lets the air in. I bet that's what did it!

Welcome!
Found this link Seems like if you stack them that might be a problem as well. but cleaning them completely and washing them out seems to be the key this article says. GL with buying new ones.
