Plant people=spider plant Q

My spider plants LOVE to sprout new plants. They grow that looooong hard stem and baby spider plants start to grow. Normally, I cut the babies, root them in water and grow in soil. But I'm running out of room. I have about 5 plants just from the new sprouts.

So my Q...what do you do with those extensions? Let them grow, cut them off and sprout or cut them off and toss somewhere?

thats what my father did with his.. he put all the babies in one large pot together. Looks like one big plant instead of a bunch of little ones.

Depends-- sometimes i'll combine a bunch of the babies into a large pot, other times, i'll get mini pots at Ikea and give them out as gifts at the office or to friends.

When I noticed my main plant wasn't doing so hot, I used to root and plant the babies in different pots and eventually, I gave up on the first plant.

I would give rooted babies away to my coworkers with instructions and when I exhausted those options, I just started throwing them away!
