Planning diet after birth
I still have 12 weeks to go but this is my second and the weight has piled on. Not to mention I was up a few to begin with. I'm *trying* to eat healthy now but could do better. I'm just really looking forward to getting rid of this belly.
I've been on and off weight watchers for years and just assumed I'd go there when my doctor gives me the okay. I've done others too but WW just seemed the easiest.
Is anyone else planning how they will loose the baby weight and if so, what plan/diet are you going to use and why? I'm open to suggestions.
TIA!!!

Re: Planning diet after birth
With DS I did WW and I likely will again, it works and fits my lifestyle better than any other diet.

Re: Planning diet after birth
i wanted to do WW as well but am following the gestational diabetes plan now (I have to) and can see it working after.
My dietician told me I can definitely do it and not be so strict and still take the weight off. It totally reminded me of WW in the beginning too but much stricter

Re: Planning diet after birth
I plan to do WW online. I'll probably start when the baby is a month old and BFing is established and going well. They have a BF plan which I plan to follow. I've never done WW before, but my friend just lost a ton of weight in it and last time I struggled to get the baby weight off by myself. This time I've only gained 1/3 of what I gained last time with 1 week to go. So hopefully it will be easier this time around...although I started 15lbs heavier than I did the first time.

You can start WW immediately. The Dr won't car what you eat after you go home. If you BF you might want to wait.
The only thing that needs to wait is exercise and losing weight is 90% diet so I would start as soon as you feel like it after birth.

Planning diet after birth
I am planning to return to my pre-pregnancy eating habits- I will make any necessary adjustments necessary for nursing. I am hopeful the baby weight will come off with a healthy diet and exercise. I have gained 27 pounds at nearly 38 weeks so I do have a bit of work ahead of me.

it's just mainly watching carbs, protein and fiber but not mixing 2 crabs together such as pretzels and hummus as a snack and doing carrots and hummus instead.
It's also mini meals which I've never done before. Breakfast, small snack 2 hours later (like greek yogurt), lunch, snack 2 hours later, dinner then snack. I'm full throughout the day.
The GD has me limiting my carbs so I can only do 15 for breakfast, 15 for midmorning snack, 30 for lunch, 15 for mid afternoon snack, 30 for dinner, then 15 for after dinner snack. This is what is going to be modified though and I can have more of.
Let me know if you have any other ?'s :D

Planning diet after birth
I plan on going back to my eating habits before getting pregnant - gluten free. Also I will try to limit my dairy intake. Currently I work out regularly - Pilates and yoga - so will start up the regular workout regimen once the Dr ok's it. Hopefully the fact I did Pilates before and during pregnancy will help me to get back to my old self faster.

Planning diet after birth
I plan on just being conscious of the sweets I am eating and I hope to get back into an exercise routine once the doctor okays it. Hopefully that works. If the weight isn't coming off then I may look into WW. I have honestly never been on a diet in my life...

I am 10 days pp and I honestly just don't have time or remember to eat. I know it is not healthy. I plan to go back to weight watchers once I go back to work and my income is back to normal

I'm not following any plan but will BF exclusively and eat a low-carb meals with lotsa meat and veggies/fruits.
For my first pregnancy I lost nearly 40lbs 3 months after delivery - went down to 96lbs pre-preggo weight.

Re: Planning diet after birth
All I did was BFing. By 6 weeks PP, I had lost all but 10lbs of the baby weight. I've stayed there, but think that had I continued BFing, I would have lost all of it. I did with my first 2 and did not have to "diet" at all.
Be careful with fruits & veggies when BFing, all the green stuff & fruits with ascorbic acid bothered my DD and I had to cut them all out.
