Plainview Hospital

Just took a tour not long ago. I found the hospital adequate, but I didnt love it. IDK maybe bc it's starting to hit me or I'm just being picky. I wanted to deliver at Winthrop but my OB may not have priviliges there when I'm due.
Also, I'm turned off that my DH and mom can't both be there when I deliver.

Who here has experience delivering at this hospital? Is there any place that will allow 2 people to be with me?

Winthrop allows 2. North Shore Manhasset is pretty flexible as long as they are not too busy.

I delivered there.

I only wanted DH, so I don't know about the grandma rule. I ended up with a c/section and I was scared when they told me and they got me a private room. In fact, I have had a private room all three times (although, I did spend 1 day for #2-3 with a roommate) - no cost.

pros - the staff is super nice, it's small and intimate, my OB is well known there (a room is named after his family)

cons - it's in need of a renovation. There are 2 doubles that are EXTREMELY small (the ones I have been in - across the nurses station) the other few doubles are much larger.
