places to vacation with a 1 year old....
We were going to take out 1 year old DS to hershey park in July for a couple of days but now I'm thinking it might just be a waste of time since he prob won't be able to go on many rides and me & DH aren't big roller coaster people.
I want to look into going somewhere close to the beach that won't take more than 4-5 hours by car, a place that's also kid friendly.
Any ideas or suggestions? DH is off all summer so we want to go during the week sometime in July to try to avoid the weekend crowds/traffic.

Or Dutch Wonderland is good for younger kids in that age range...

Cape May NJ is so beautiful in the summer. There are so many places to stay right on the beach, and when sitting on the beach, you can usually see the dolphins swimming out in the distance! there's a boardwalk with lots of places to take baby on a walk, and its so cute and quaint! hope you enjoy wherever you go!

thanks ladies, those are all great ideas. I'm going to look into Montauk and Cape May. I was also thinking of doing Dutch wonderland for the day.

We are doing 2 nights in Mystic in July, and 7 nights in Ogonquit, ME in August. DS will be 14/15 months.

we are doing sesame street with DD who is 1 years old as well. She LOOOOVES sesame street though! I was thinking of doing Sanibel island in Florida- but I'm just not too sure how DD will handle the sun and heat at this point...
