placentia previa?

I was just wondering if anyone here has this my mom had placentia previa with both me and my brother and it seems that I have it Im 5 1/2 months pregnant and the doctor said as of now theres not much he can do but hope it goes up and keep and eye on me. I was supose to have my c-section in the beginning of december but now he moved tht up to the end of november and he said depending on if this moves up or not he may have to do the csection earlier.
I know with my mom they had a scheduled csection and she went into labor before it and hemridged with me. so I guess just knowing what my mom went throughit scares me she said that my daughter is now giving me payback lol. just want to know if anyone has something to share TIA

Re: placentia previa?

I had it-

The DR never really said much about it other than- if it didnt fix itself we would need to do a c-section, and he also put me on pelvic rest..... (what a nice excuse to getting out of doing the deed while preggo Chat Icon

By 32 weeks... it had fixed itself!

Re: placentia previa?

I have it. I am 25 weeks (it was diagnosed at 20 weeks) and I have another sono at 28 weeks to see if it moved. My doctor said that most of the time it corrects itself but that I should refrain from heavy lifting or exercise and if I bleed at all I have to go to the hospital. He said it won't harm the baby and worst case, we do a C-Section. i cried for 2 days when I found out, I was so scared, but now the more people I talk to, the more I see how common it is.

Re: placentia previa?

I had this when I was pregnant with my son and was also put on pelvic rest. It eventually fixed itself by moving up as your belly grows. Good luck!

Re: placentia previa?

It can move...try to think positive.
As for a c/s there are things you can do to make it a "nicer" experience such as requesting not to have your arms tied down. playing the music you want played, discussing ALL fears and concerns, discuss pain management, what will happen at each stage etc...

Re: placentia previa?

i was the same way you were completely freaked out I was told i had it at my 20 week appt. it corrected itself and my little girl came naturally. its not rare alot of women have had it and as long as you follow doctors orders you will be fine. i was told no heavy lifting and exercise and thats what i did. at my 32week sono i was told it corrected itself.

Re: placentia previa?

thanks everyone I feel a lttle better now I know that with my moms history it just scared me. I was gonna have a csection anyways because I did with my first son so that doesnt worry me its just the idea that if it doesnt correct itself and i go into labor thats what scares me. but thanks again everyone

Same for me...but it I just found out yesterday that it fixed itself - I'm 23 weeks.

My friend had it and it corrected itself by her 28th week.
